How to avoid extreme dandruff in winters?

Dandruff in winters: The dreadful dandruff has arrived with the winter season. Every year in the month of winter, Jivisha clinic treats many patients who are very much troubled by their dandruff. Wintertime dandruff is typically brought on by a dry, itchy scalp. Dry, chilly air and an overgrowth of fungus are both at blame for this. Use the appropriate hair care products that are designed for the task to lessen and treat dandruff. Here are a few home remedies for removing dandruff.

1. sufficient hair brushing

Oils that maintain healthy hair and a healthy scalp are secreted more frequently when the scalp is stimulated. A healthy scalp means one that is flake-free.

2. Take more water

We frequently forget to drink water in the winter, which dehydrates the skin and hair and increases dandruff. The daily water intake cap is set at 5 liters, but if it's too chilly, you can get by with 4 liters!

3. Keep out of direct heat

One of the most frequent reasons of a flaky scalp is heat. Wet hair can create headaches and colds, which is why hairdryers are so popular in the winter. However, direct exposure to heat, such as that from hairdryers and ironing sticks, dries out the scalp. Instead, towel-dry your hair before allowing it to air dry.

4. Switch towels.

Some towels are soft and comfortable to use, however a pure cotton towel works best for wiping your hair. The Turkish towel's coarse texture is bad for your hair and might cause extra frizz. The ideal way to dry your hair after washing it is using a cotton t-shirt.

5. Modify your diet

Altering your diet is one method for getting rid of dandruff. Excellent nutrients for the hair and scalp

include vitamin B, zinc, and omega 3. Boost your diet with fruits and fresh salads. Strong sources of these nutrients are eggs, fish, bananas, spinach, and bananas.

6. Reduce sugar intake

Sugar is bad for your skin, as we've already explained. It turns out that the hair suffers as well! Excessive oily flakes are produced when blood sugar levels are high, which increases dandruff in the winter. Limit your sugar intake and replace it with honey or jaggery.

7. Use allicins.

High allicin concentrations in onions and garlic have antifungal properties. Apply honey and onion or garlic juice to the scalp for a common home cure for dandruff. Rinse after about 15 minutes.

8. Apply hair oil

Each time you take a head bath, oil your hair. The greatest way to hydrate the scalp and hair is using coconut oil. Additionally, using coconut oil as the base, you can combine equal parts of olive oil, neem oil, almond oil, and castor oil. Apply the oil from the scalp to the tip after slightly heating it. Remove it using a gentle shampoo. Several drops of tea tree oil, a well-known anti-dandruff treatment, can also be added.

9. Lessen tension

Stress makes any existing condition worse, so when you're under too much stress, mild dandruff turns severe. Reduce your stress levels by getting enough sleep, practising yoga, and engaging in physical activity. Keep your negativity to yourself!

10. Avoid dying your hair.

Chemical products like hair dye, potent shampoos, and style aids exacerbate an itchy scalp. Since the scalp is prone to dryness in the winter, avoid using these products.
